Back to One-Flow Diagnosis

MOXIE STUDIO / ONE-FLOW DIAGNOSIS / SPECIMEN 01

Quantity changes.
The total stays behind.

Public synthetic sample. Diagnosis only.
An original local fixture, not client work, a payment checkout or proof of general repair capability. No money or personal data is involved.

01 / Scope and environment

One browser flow: change a quantity preview from 1 to 2 at a unit price of $12.00 USD. Local HTML with embedded JavaScript, installed Brave driven by Playwright; desktop 1280px and narrow 390px. Browser versions and timestamps are retained in the execution evidence. Inputs are original synthetic values; no supplied code was executed.

02 / Reproduction

OBSERVED Reproduced at both tested widths.

  1. Open the intentionally faulty fixture in a browser. The starting quantity is 1 and the preview is $12.00 USD.
  2. Focus Quantity, select its content and type 2.
  3. First failing step: read the total. Expected $24.00 USD; observed $12.00 USD.

The same script makes this exact acceptance assertion fail on the faulty fixture, then pass on the separate synthetic reference control. A failing assertion is evidence of the seeded defect, not a passing product test.

03 / Evidence and fault boundary

OBSERVED The fixture input handler assigns a constant $12.00 USD string to the total on every input event.

INFERRED This stale-total boundary explains this toy failure. It says nothing about server totals or another application's cause.

UNKNOWN No production backend, payments, persistence, authentication or client deployment was tested.

Inspect the narrow failure screenshot

Captured after typing 2; the displayed total remains $12.00 USD.

The evidence stays inline. Activate the disclosure again to close it without leaving this diagnosis.

Synthetic quantity 2 with the incorrect total of 12 dollars

04 / Developer handoff and free route

First compare the input event handler with the preview calculation. Derive the displayed total from the current quantity rather than a constant string. The separate synthetic reference control illustrates only that boundary, not a customer repair.

Before paying for diagnosis, try the platform's existing troubleshooting and community route. No platform-specific documented remedy has been verified for this invented local fixture; this card does not pretend it is a Bolt incident.

05 / Later-repair acceptance

  1. At both tested widths, start with quantity 1: total must be $12.00 USD.
  2. Using the keyboard, replace it with 2: total must immediately be $24.00 USD without navigation or a payment action.
  3. Repeat with 3, then return to 1: totals must be $36.00 USD then $12.00 USD. Reload and confirm the initial state again.
  4. Require no page-script errors, no horizontal overflow and keyboard access to the diagnosis link. These are narrow acceptance checks, not an accessibility audit.

Four seeded reproduction assertions fail as expected; all 14 reference-control assertions pass. These checks cover only the synthetic fixture.
